My First Day at the Science Fair
Attending the science fair as a B.Ed trainee was a completely new experience for me. Our college was invited to help monitor the competitions because school teachers might unintentionally favour their own students. So, we were given the responsibility to ensure fairness and smooth coordination.
We reached the venue before the morning prayer, and one of the teachers briefed us about our duties. He explained clearly what we needed to do during each competition
especially how to handle attendance, monitor students, and maintain proper discipline.

On the first day, I was assigned to the Maths Fair. After entering the assigned room, I received two sheets to mark the attendance of the participants. My job was to sign in each student, confirm their presence, and mark “absent” if anyone did not show up. It was a simple task, but it felt important because accuracy mattered.
Once the program ended, we handed over the completed attendance papers to the teacher in charge. The day was not very hectic, but it gave me a good understanding of how such events work behind the scenes. It was a smooth and meaningful start to the science fair.
