College Union Inauguration – Sahya



The College Union “Sahya” of our college was inaugurated with great enthusiasm. The name Sahya is inspired by the Sahya Mountains, symbolizing strength and stability, reminding us to remain strong and steady in every situation.

The programme began at 11 a.m. with the formal proceedings such as welcoming the guests, lighting the lamp, and delivering speeches. One of the most important moments of the programme was the oath-taking ceremony, where the newly elected union members officially took their oath. It was a proud moment for me as I had the opportunity to serve as the Chairperson of the college union.

The chief guest of the programme was Kumari Devalakshmi, a talented dancer who is deaf and mute. Her achievements were truly inspiring. We also invited her teacher, as the success behind Devalakshmi is strongly supported by the guidance and encouragement of her teacher. As students of a B.Ed college, we wanted to highlight the strong bond between a teacher and a student through their presence.

 In the afternoon session, various dance performances and cultural programmes were conducted, which made the day lively and memorable. Overall, the Sahya College Union inauguration was a meaningful and memorable experience. For me personally, it was a proud moment to be part of the programme as the Chairperson of the college union.

Today our college observed Ozone Day with a special assembly that aimed to spread awareness about the importance of protecting the ozone layer. The programme began with an informative session by Asiya and Revathi, who explained in detail what the ozone layer is, how it is formed, and why it is so essential for life on Earth, while also pointing out the dangers of ozone depletion and its harmful effects on both nature and human beings. Their talk helped us understand the science behind the ozone layer in a simple and clear way. After this, Anjana conducted a lively quiz on Ozone Day, which made the session more interactive and interesting, and a winner was also announced, adding enthusiasm to the programme. A beautiful start that taught us healing begins at home.

On 12th March 2026, our capacity building program began with a powerful session on stress within the family. It was an eye-opening experience that helped us realize how deeply family relationships influence our mental well-being. The session started with a clear explanation of what stress is, followed by a discussion on its common causes in family life misunderstandings, financial struggles, lack of communication, and emotional distance. What made the session truly special was how relatable everything felt. To make the session more engaging, the group conducted fun stress-relief games. These activities not only made us laugh and relax but also showed us how simple techniques can help reduce stress in our daily lives. The group also shared meaningful solutions like open communication, mutual respect, and emotional support. It reminded us that a peaceful home environment plays a key role in leading a balanced life.
