Freshers’ Day: A Fun and Memorable Welcome
Our Freshers’ Day on 3rd November was one of the most joyful experiences of this academic year. As we entered the venue, our seniors welcomed us warmly by applying red sindoor on our foreheads. Along with that, they handed us a cute card that had a small sweet attached to it. On the back of each card, a number was written something we didn’t realise would become very important later!
When we stepped into the decorated Freshers’ Day classroom, the atmosphere immediately felt festive. We took our seats, and the programme began with a funny and light-hearted pledge prepared by our seniors. It had lines about obeying our seniors, being truthful to them, and even a humorous promise not to fall in love with them. The whole class burst into laughter, and it set the perfect mood for the rest of the day.
Soon after, the real fun started. Numbers from 1 to 38 were called out one by one, and each junior had to go forward and perform a task given by the seniors. Everyone was alert, waiting for their number to come up. My number was 17. My task was both funny and dramatic a senior, acting like a sage, sat on the stage as if meditating for a long time, and I had to “wake him up” by dancing in front of him. I did the dance confidently, and everyone enjoyed it. Many more hilarious tasks followed, and the best part was that none of us hesitated. We all participated wholeheartedly, and our teachers and seniors were genuinely happy seeing our enthusiasm.
By afternoon, we were served lunch arranged by our seniors. After lunch, the room turned even livelier with dance and song performances from both seniors and juniors. We laughed, enjoyed, and celebrated together. The whole event helped us bond with our seniors, and we felt much closer to them by the end of the day.
Overall, Freshers’ Day was filled with fun, laughter, and beautiful memories. It wasn’t just a welcome it was the beginning of a warm and friendly journey with our seniors.
